I was a bit surprised to
see that the Ugly Anne was no longer going to be in
Ogunquit/Perkins Cove. This boat was a
"fixture" in the cove to many people, and will
be missed by many returning visitors to the area. Not
all fished or took the lobster cruises on her but the
boat was still a "mascot" of Perkins Cove.
I fished on her back when
your husband, Capt. Ken Young ran her and the first mate
was "Corky" Decker, who was the son of my high
school teacher who later became a friend. We always had
a great time on the boat. I fished on her a few times
after Capt. Young passed on, and while the crew was very
good they could not come close close to Capt. Young's
knowledge, skill, or personality.
The new owner has a very
comfortable boat to run his scenic tours on. I'm sure
his passengers will enjoy the ride, and the
"safe" feeling the Ugly Anne has. Its hard to
believe that the Ugly Anne was 35 years old, she always
looked great. A compliment to her owner and crew.
Coming into Perkins Cove
will never be the same without the bright red and white
Ugly Anne to "greet" everyone. Maines loss is
Michigans gain.
All the Best

Planning
visit to Ogunquit this July and went online to get your
contact information. So Sorry to see you are selling.
My
late father in law, Adolph Prussing took his grandkids
out on the Ugly Anne several times, so when our kids
wanted to go out fishing we called you. First try got
rained out, second one, we made it and it didn’t rain
till we were headed back. You mentioned I might be bad
luck for fishing. Well I didn’t catch anything but the
ocean bottom but had a great time. Was so nice dealing
with you, so sorry you are selling as I was hoping for
another try at catching the big one…… or anyone for
that matter.
We
wish you the best in your new endeavors. Thank you for
your kind services.

You and
your husband gave our family many great memories
on the Ugly Anne. Family has included my husband
and I, a son-in-law, two of our sons and two of our
grandsons and a granddaughter as well as friends.
We are
coming to Maine next month and we, like others, were
surprised to hear you had sold the Ugly Anne. We
will surely miss our fishing trips but know that for all
things there is a season.
Ralph
worked at Vermont Castings in Vermont and brought Ken
over a Vt Castings stove one year. We also
encountered Ken at the Egg and I having breakfast before
the early fishing trip.
Thank
you for helping us create memories and we have tons of
pictures to enhance those memories.
Regards,
Sue and
